Research interests

My main area of research is psychology of information security. My main areas of interest there include: The compliance with security policies, educational campaigns, social engineering, and hacker taxonomy.

My previous research interests include psychology of Internet fraud and topics connected to it. The topics include psychology of will / self-control, social psychology, psychology of persuasion, decision making processes, cyber-criminology, victimology and personality psychology.

 

There are currently three distinct areas I am focusing on:

  • Online deception and deterrence (victimology, psychology of compliance, psychological mechanisms that elicit resistance to scammers...)
  • Online reputation systems (reputation frameworks, establishing veracity of reputation, insuring robustness ...)
  • Psychology of security (social engineering, educational campaigns, security nudges...)

The other area I am interested in is psychotherapy (from the perspective of the practitioneer).
